Horse Racing is often described as “Sport of the Kings”. While the wealthy have often taken an interest in horse racing, it is in no way confined to millionaires, especially in Australia.
You can easily own a racehorse and become involved in the industry and it’s lifestyle. Becoming an owner is extremely easy and almost every budget is catered for. You may own a horse outright or with a group of friends. I myself have raced a number of horses, alone and with a group of owners. I genuinely love the sport, the horses and the excitement!
The biggest challenge of owning a racehorse is that money cannot guarantee you success. There are expensive purchases who may not always live up to their breeding pedigree as well as bargain buys which have paid off their price many times over. There is no guarantee!
Giddy Up and join in the fun I say! Horse racing is about having fun. Ask any race horse owner and they will tell you there is no bigger adrenaline rush than watching your horse win a race, whether it be a country maiden or a Group 1. As an owner you get to join the racing’s elite. You get to enter the mounting yard where champion trainers and jockeys come together before and after the race. And if you’re a lucky owner you get to enjoy your moment in the spotlight alongside the horse!
So if you’re thinking of owning a horse or a hoof of one, feel free to contact me and I can provide you with relevant information. I’m off to Sydney Inglis Easter Sales next month, hopefully to bring home the next champion or few…
