Yearlings have started arriving at Inglis’ Newmarket sales complex in Sydney and are getting prepped for buyers to come and inspect. This is where the best bred yearlings from Australia and New Zealand are offered for sale to trainers and bloodstock agents from all over the world. The Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale occurs during Sydney’s Autumn Carnival between Tooheys New Golden Slipper Day and David Jones Australian Derby.
It really is a spectacular time to be in Sydney for those who love the horses, racing and let’s not forget fashion!! I find myself re visiting Sydney every year for this special occasion. From horse sales to cocktail parties Inglis has it all covered.
So what to pack for this diverse week of events?! I like to travel relatively light. This means, no more than 5 pairs of shoes! I pack a pair of flats, ankle boots, runners (for my annual coogee to bondi walk) and 2 pairs of heels (nude & black). When I’m not donning a dress on a race day I find myself living in jeans and tops/shirts. I am currently obsessed with the Rails shirts, long and short.
A staple jumper and or jacket never goes unused when I attend the Easter Sales. It can get rather cool out at the sales complex when inspecting (or pretending and just tagging along) horses. Below are some of my favourite items I like to have on hand (in my suitcase) when I travel to the sales for some shopping of different nature!
